Hydi Technology - How it Works

How do the HYDI units work?

The HYDI hydrogen on demand system supplies hydrogen gas to a diesel engine’s intake. On a mass-to-mass basis, hydrogen has three times the energy content of diesel and delivers a higher flame speed to improve combustion efficiency.  This powerful combination reduces fuel consumption, carbon and greenhouse gas exhaust emissions and increases performance.

Hydi Process

In Simple Terms

The units generate Hydrogen gas from de-mineralized water without the need for re-gassing, pressurized hydrogen cylinders, or storage. The system produces Hydrogen on demand during engine operation, automatically shutting down when the engine is turned off. There is no separate hydrogen storage, as the unit creates its own hydrogen supply, introducing it into the combustion process through the air intake for a clean and efficient burn. The water chamber needs periodic refilling based on usage, such as 1 liter of de-mineralized water for approximately 30 hours of operation in a 15-liter engine. This approach is straightforward, environmentally friendly, and safe, making it suitable for use even in remote areas.

Safe

Sophisticated safety features ensure the HYDI Unit does not store hydrogen and only produces it while the engine is running.

Robust

Durable welded 316 stainless-steel construction ensures the HYDI Unit performs optimally in harsh environments.

Economical

A HYDI Unit offers rapid return on investment based on fuel cost savings.

Efficient

Cutting-edge electronics allow HYDI Units to minimise the electrical input required for maximum output of hydrogen.

Smart

HYDI Units use the latest technology. Electronics monitor and optimise hydrogen production while Bluetooth enables the operation status to be displayed in real time.
